After earning a BA in journalism from the University of Iowa and an MSJ from Northwestern University, worked more than 30 years – two thirds of them at NBC – in broadcast journalism as a producer-writer.

Taught journalism at Truman State University (Kirksville, Mo.) and Roosevelt University (Chicago) before retiring completely in 2003.

In 2006 we purchased a Class A RV and two years later 13 acres adjacent to the North Kettle Moraine State Forest 50 miles north of Milwaukee, which we call Moraine Elaine. We take major road trips in the RV in the spring and fall, and park it on the Wisconsin property from May through October where it becomes our “cottage in the woods,” which we visit frequently.

We are fortunate to have settled into the retired life.

Judy, I had a similar identity issue in grade school as you did with Judy Cramer. At Madison, I was Jack. Two years later, when we West Haven kids were bussed to Harding, I used Norbert (first name on my school records) because there was another Jack in my class. Two years later, the start of 5th grade, I reverted to Jack. When we started at RJHS I settled on Norbert/Norb.

Thursday dinner? The last two or three reunions, there has been an "underground" gathering on Thursday evening at the Northwestern Steakhouse. (One the Motts don't have to deal with -- they have enough on their plates.) Is a similar gathering in the worksfor Sept. 15?
