After earning a BA in journalism from the University of Iowa and an MSJ from Northwestern University, worked more than 30 years – two thirds of them at NBC – in broadcast journalism as a producer-writer.

Taught journalism at Truman State University (Kirksville, Mo.) and Roosevelt University (Chicago) before retiring completely in 2003.

In 2006 we purchased a Class A RV and two years later 13 acres adjacent to the North Kettle Moraine State Forest 50 miles north of Milwaukee, which we call Moraine Elaine. We take major road trips in the RV in the spring and fall, and park it on the Wisconsin property from May through October where it becomes our “cottage in the woods,” which we visit frequently.

We are fortunate to have settled into the retired life.

Happy birthday, David!
David and I attended a special concert for U of Iowa School of Music supporters, 4/28. How much fun!
We grew up six blocks from each other and went to the same school from first grade through our undergraduate years at Iowa.
